We here at the New Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church are proud of our leader, the Reverend Gregory Lynn Brown. Pastor Brown is happily married to Charlotte Denise and has a four-year old son, Gregory Alonzo. Pastor Brown has obtained several years of experience in the pastoral field. He served as an Assistant Pastor to Pastor Theodis Rucker at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Blytheville, Arkansas for two and a half years and as an Assistant Pastor to Pastor M.L. Smith at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Osceola, Arkansas for two and a half years. His service has not been confined to the church but has spread throughout Mississippi County. His nursing home ministry, which was conducted every Sunday morning at the Memorial Nursing Home in Blytheville and the Osceola Healthcare Center, gained him recognition as a dedicated volunteer. He conducted a telephone prayer ministry, seminars on “Developing a Prayer Life" and "Abiding in Christ", and has been very active in youth ministries. His services as an Assistant Pastor involved home and hospital visitation, revival services in both churches and nursing homes, just to name a few. Pastor Brown's motto: 'Sacrificing All For Christ’, which he adopted upon his call to the ministry, epitomizes the scripture found in Isaiah 6:8. It states; 'Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me'. In his endeavors to never stop growing, Pastor Brown has attended numerous Church Development Conferences offered through Dr. Tony Evans' Urban Alternative in Dallas, Texas. He has received a Certificate of Completion for 'Leaders for the Harvest' from Bethesda Bible Institute in Blytheville, Arkansas. On April 26, 2008, Pastor Brown was consecrated to the office of Bishop through the World Harvest Covenant Churches International Fellowship. On October 2, 2008, Bishop Brown completed requirements to graduate with Certificates of Certification in the areas of Christian Education and Christian Counseling from The Urban Alternative in Dallas, Texas. He also received certificates of completion from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois in the areas of Basic Christian Doctrine and Being a Christian Leader. Bishop Brown's vision for us is to Make Disciples, Empower those Disciples, and Make Evangelists of those Disciples by the Perfecting Power of the Holy Spirit.
